OREGON CRAFTED™ Studio Weekend June 22, 2006 JUNE 2006 OREGON CRAFTED UPDATE Greetings to all Oregon Crafted artists, crafters, partners, and supporters! OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND July 1 & 2, 2006. Make sure to have your Oregon Crafted signs out (be sure that the sign is on your property and not in the public right-of-way). If you are not able to have your studio open, please post a sign with your regrets and when you will be open again. NEWS FROM THE OC OFFICE We are working on compiling a list of possible trainings to offer as workshops for Oregon Crafted artists, and would be interested in your feedback to help us determine what is needed. What are some things you would like to learn more about in order to apply to your business? We look forward to hearing from you! 2ND EDITION OF THE OREGON CRAFTED GUIDEBOOK We are in the planning stages of the 2nd edition of the Oregon Crafted Guidebook, to be published in the Spring of 2007, and want to hear from all of OC artists about your intentions to participate. The fee will be $75, and will include the artist’s listing in the guidebook and 10 Guidebooks. Artists will have the opportunity to provide us with new photos and written descriptions, or keep their listings the same. We would like to have new materials by October 1st. We will be sending new information forms to you in the near future. A BROCHURE INTRODUCING ADDITIONAL OREGON CRAFTED ARTISTS We have approximately 20 artists and a gallery as Oregon Crafted members joining us this summer. We are in the process of having a beautiful addendum brochure printed that will have information about these artists. All Oregon Crafted artists, as well as other locations selling the Guidebook, will receive a batch of these brochures to hand out to visiting customers to spread the word. These artists will also be in the 2nd edition. We hope to have them printed by mid-July. EXHIBIT OPPORTUNITY: LeRoost B&B, in Lorane, has gallery space for Oregon Crafted artists to display and sell their work. This is a great way to expand where you show. Contact Cris Bisch, at 767-1777, or by email at: info@leroostlorane.com. ARTRAIN IS COMING: We will be hosting the Artrain USA in Eugene/Springfield in November 8-12; the current exhibition is “Native American Art.” To find out more about this traveling art exhibit, you can look up www.artrainusa.org online. The train includes a car that will showcase local artists and provide a space for demonstrations. It will also be a great way to focus a spotlight on Oregon Crafted’s commitment to and support of Art. If you would like to be involved in helping to plan and facilitate this event, please let us know of your interest! WHAT WORKS FOR YOU? Do you have some marketing strategies that have been working for you, and that you could share with other Oregon Crafted members? We will be glad to pass them on in this monthly newsletter. You can email Robin Winfree-Andrew at robin@oregoncrafted.org, or call the main office at: 541-687-8353.
