Featured Artist
ynthia Farlow, an elder in the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians, owns The Gifted Gable with her husband, Vance. The shop is located on Highway 101 in Lincoln City, across from De Lake School. You really can’t miss the shop as it is situated in the Seven Gable Shoppes, an old motor motel of bygone years. Cynthia specializes in healing dream catchers, but also creates beaded jewelry, crystal sun catchers and Veteran’s medal necklaces which are sold in the shop—just to mention a few of the art that she creates. When you visit the shop, be sure to admire the large Native American doll that Cynthia created and has on display on the stone fireplace that once kept motel guests warm on a chilly coastal night.
Cynthia has
been making healing dream catchers since 1992, when she made her
first one at the request of a friend to cure her nightmares. She
has made countless dream catchers for people she has never met, each
with a special healing focus. Cynthia believes every one is
inspired by the Great Cynthia and Vance take pride in offering quality specialty gifts created by local Native American artists. From beaded earrings to exquisite necklaces to Native American-themed note cards, customers will find a fine collection of local art to choose from as well as some very unique gifts from all over the world.
